Country living at the foot of Blue Mountain
Lehigh Township sits in the northwestern corner of Northampton County, about ten miles north of Allentown, with the Kittatinny Ridge rising to the north. For buyers at 4847 Timberline Rd, that means quiet country roads and mountain views during the week, with the entire Lehigh Valley within easy reach.
The setting is what draws most people here. Mature trees, generous lots, and scenic ridge views give the area a slower, more relaxed pace than the city. Yet PA 145 connects you to Route 22 and the broader Lehigh Valley, so Allentown is roughly a 25-minute drive and Bethlehem about 30 minutes.
Outdoor life is a big part of the appeal. The Lehigh Gap Nature Center offers more than 13 miles of free hiking trails and the Bake Oven Knob hawk watch. Blue Mountain Resort, about nine miles away, is Pennsylvania's largest ski area and a four-season destination for skiing, biking, and adventure. The D&L Trail follows the Lehigh River, with a flatwater launch at Walnutport for kayakers and canoeists.
For everyday needs, Walnutport is just down the road, and the Northampton Area School District serves the area, with Lehigh Elementary on Blue Mountain Drive. It is a balance of country living and real convenience that is surprisingly hard to find.
